Ingredients
Puff dough (see puff dough or curd cheese puff dough recipe)
|
4-5 apples cinnamon cane sugar an egg to smear with |
How to prepare
You can use the puff dough to prepare a whole pie. Roll the dough flat (about 3-4 mm) and use the rolling pin to move it onto a baking tray covered with baking paper. Slice the apples into thin circles or wedges, add a few drops of lemon juice and rub a little. Cover the pie surface with the apples and add some cinnamon and a couple of brown sugar grains (you can also add nuts or seeds). Cut the dough overlapping the pie edges and fold it back over the fruit. Smear the pie edges with whipped egg. Bake at 210 °C for about 20 minutes. To prevent going stale, you can smear the apples (when baked) with a watered down preserve. This will make the cake nice and glossy. Coat with powdered sugar before serving.
