Ingredients

Dough (see Puff shortcrust dough from curd cheese recipe)

ca. 750 g apples
100 g raisins
cinnamon
sugar
walnuts or roasted
sunflower seeds
1-2 TBSP Nomina porridge
egg

How to prepare

Follow the recipe to prepare the Puff shortcrust dough from curd cheese. Prepare the strudel filling using the sliced apples, cinnamon, washed raisins, chopped nuts and, if necessary, sugar. Mix it with 1-2 tablespoons of Nomina porridge used instead of bread crumbs. Roll the dough flat (about 2-3 mm) placing the apple filling in the middle. You can add a couple of slices of butter. Fold the shorter sides first, then fold the longer ends. Smear all of the connected edges with a whipped egg. Place the strudel on a baking tray. Smear the entire surface with the egg and use a fork to puncture several spots on the surface. Bake at 210 °C for 20-25 minutes (a full tray of strudels).

Our tip: If you wish to have the dish neatly “wrapped” (as a snack for children for example), you can prepare smaller turnovers instead of a full strudel. Cut the rolled dough into squares (20x20 cm), place the filling in the middle and connect the edges using the egg.
