NOMINA spelt BIO cereal porridge

Why BIO foodstuff?

Although there is much debate about whether or not they are healthier or taste better than conventional foodstuffs, it's safe to say that these foodstuffs have been produced with respect for the environment from the start. Organic farming doesn't involve artificial fertilisers, pesticides or other substances harmful to nature and resources. The control system guarantees compliance with certain rules for both the producers of the ingredients and their processors in BIO food plants. Such foodstuffs then reach your table.

BIO is not just a way of eating, BIO is a way of life.

A popular instant porridge. Why, you ask? Because of its natural character. The grain is gently heat treated so that it doesn't need to be cooked and the porridge is ready in a few minutes, while retaining its nutritional value. This porridge is made from an ancient cereal, hulled spelt wheat. It has a very pleasant nutty taste. Because we process it in its whole grain form, it retains a lot of valuable nutritional content!

As per usual, you won't find milk, added sugar or other flavourings in the ingredients. Grains only.

You can prepare Nomina spelt porridge according to your own ideas. It's not flavoured, you choose what other ingredients or sweeteners you want or can use. The porridge doesn't contain any allergens. It's instant and has already been heat treated. Thanks to this, you can prepare it for consumption in a few minutes. It's up to you what you want to flavour it with or how thick it will be. You choose what to sweeten it with and how sweet it will be. It can be prepared both sweet and savoury. It's nutritious, filling and easy to digest. You can prepare the porridge at home, on a visit with friends, or even on the go. Just wherever you have Nomina instant spelt porridge at hand.
    • A couple of tips:
    • You can mix the porridge in hot milk, in your favourite vegetable milk (coconut, almond, rice, etc.) or in yoghurt with water.
    • Use approximately three to four times the amount of hot liquid and "fine-tune" the thickness to your liking. Expect the porridge to swell up and thicken within 3-5 minutes.
    • Sweetening? You can flavour it with honey or a sweet vegetable syrup (cereal, maple, chicory, ...). But the milk already has a sweet taste.
    • All kinds of fruit are friends with porridge, preferably fresh, dried fruit also tastes good.
    • A little spice can be useful. Cinnamon or star anise are a must, but you can also try a pinch of cloves and others.
    • Yoghurt or quark will add protein.
    • Don't forget some seeds and nuts.
    • For the sweet tooth we can add quality chocolate or homemade jam.
    • Or something else entirely. The thick porridge can also be prepared as a savoury dish. This includes herbs, garlic, mushrooms, Parmesan cheese, onions or avocado.
  • Porridge isn’t just for porridge

You can also use the product

    • to thicken soups or sauces
    • as a binder for minced meat or vegetable mixtures (meatballs)
    • to thicken confectionery fillings (e.g. apple, curd)

Spelt is an ancient type of grain and is considered to be the ancestor of today's wheat. It's currently enjoying a great renaissance. It's certainly for its nutritional value and easy digestibility. In Nomina porridge, it's used in its wholegrain form, so it's a natural source of dietary fibre for our body. The fibre has a fine structure which makes it very well tolerated and supports digestion and intestinal peristalsis. The complex carbohydrates of spelt are then the right source of energy for our organism, as they are released into the body gradually. The carbohydrates also contribute to the maintenance of normal brain function. Its pleasantly nutty taste may surprise you.

Despite its undeniable qualities, the porridge is NOT SUITABLE FOR CELIACS AND A GLUTEN-FREE DIET.
