NOMINA tasty cereal porridge (gluten-free)

Gluten free vegan

An excellent choice. This porridge is a combination of several naturally gluten-free crops combining together to create a very pleasant taste and giving the best of themselves to our body. The grains are gently heat treated beforehand so that they don't need to be cooked anymore and the porridge is ready in a few minutes. At the same time, they retain their nutritional value. The base of this porridge is sorghum with whole grain rice. The taste is completed by red quinoa, and the nutritional value is completed by flax seed flour. Their combination creates a tasty and nutritionally rich food.

As per usual, you won't find milk, added sugar or other flavourings in the ingredients. Only grains.

You can prepare the Nomina tasty porridge according to your own ideas. It's not flavoured, you choose what other ingredients or sweeteners you want or can use. The porridge doesn't contain any allergens. It's instant and has already been heat treated. Thanks to this, you can prepare it for consumption in a few minutes. It's up to you what you want to flavour it with or how thick it will be. You choose what to sweeten it with and how sweet it will be. It can be prepared both sweet and savoury. It's nutritious, filling and easy to digest. You can prepare the porridge at home, on a visit with friends, or even on the go. Just wherever you have the Nomina tasty cereal porridge at hand.

    • A couple of tips
    • You can mix the porridge in hot milk, in your favourite vegetable milk (coconut, almond, rice, etc.) or in yoghurt with water.
    • Use approximately three to four times the amount of hot liquid and "fine-tune" the thickness to your liking. Expect the porridge to swell up and thicken within 3-5 minutes.
    • Sweetening? You can flavour it with honey or a sweet vegetable syrup (cereal, maple, chicory, ...). But the milk already has a sweet taste.
    • All kinds of fruit are friends with porridge, preferably fresh, dried fruit also tastes good.
    • A little spice can be useful. Cinnamon or star anise are a must, but you can also try a pinch of cloves and others.
    • Yoghurt or quark will add protein.
    • Don't forget some seeds and nuts.
    • For the sweet tooth we can add quality chocolate or homemade jam.
    • Or something else entirely. The thick porridge can also be prepared as a savoury dish. This includes herbs, garlic, mushrooms, Parmesan cheese, onions or avocado.
  • Porridge isn’t just for porridge

You can also use the product

    • to thicken soups or sauces
    • as a binder for minced meat or vegetable mixtures (meatballs)
    • to thicken confectionery fillings (e.g. apple, curd)

One ingredient of Nomina tasty is sorghum. Common sorghum is a very old crop native to northeast Africa. It was known to the ancient Egyptians. Gradually it spread to the warmer and drier regions of all continents. Today, it's said to be grown in largest quantities in the USA. Depending on the species, sorghum is used for various technical purposes, sugar production and animal feed. Grain sorghum is grown as a cereal for human consumption. It's one of the five most widely grown food grains in the world.

Quinoa is also an ancient crop, known to the Incas thousands of years ago. It's now grown not only in the mountainous regions of the Andes in South America, but also in parts of Europe. It's classified as a pseudo-grain (similar to amaranth, for example). Thanks to today's analytical possibilities, we already know why the Incas held it in high esteem. Because of its nutritional value, it's often labelled a superfood. It's valued for its high protein content (higher than other grains) with all the essential amino acids present. It's also a rich source of magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc, vitamin B2, quality fatty acids and fibre. It has a delicious taste, is easily digestible and naturally gluten-free.

Brown rice, or more commonly natural rice, is a partially hulled rice that retains much more B vitamins, more valuable minerals (iron, magnesium and phosphorus) and, of course, fibre than white rice.

Flaxseed flour is still an underrated excellent natural source of the much needed soluble and insoluble fibre.

This combination of naturally gluten-free ingredients is both a natural source of dietary fiber and a source of complex carbohydrates that help maintain normal brain function. Complemented with seeds and fresh fruit, it can be a nice start to your day.

Nomina Delicious porridge is suitable for celiacs and a gluten-free diet
