Spelt Linzer cookies

Prepare delicious linzer cookies from our high quality spelt flour from the Vysočina region! These traditional cookies are characterised by their subtle taste and delicate texture, which will delight every lover of sweet treats. Perfect for the Christmas holidays to enjoy a healthier alternative to the classic recipe! 

Directions

  1. Mix the tempered ingredients and knead into a smooth dough. Let rest in a cool place for at least 1 hour. Roll out the dough into a 3 mm thick sheet and cut out shapes, always two of a kind, the top one with a hole. Bake at 170-180 °C for about 13 min until lightly pink. After cooling, bind with spicy (e.g. currant) jam. 

    Our tip: You can also bind the biscuits with other types of cream. The dough can be used for Linzer cupcakes. You can also flavour the base dough with a tablespoon of cocoa. If you want to bake with cane sugar and you only have granulated sugar, it is no problem to grind it into fine powder in a blade coffee grinder.
